Tesla Model Y Prices Increase by $1,000 for Premium Trims
Tesla Model Y prices have once again seen an increase after remaining stable for a while. The automaker raised the prices of the Premium trims of the Model Y by $1,000 in the US today.
There are two variants available with the Premium tag – the Rear-Wheel Drive (RWD) version and the All-Wheel Drive (AWD) trim. With the addition of $1,000, the price of the Tesla Model Y Premium RWD is now $45,990, while the Tesla Model Y Premium AWD now comes at a price tag of $49,990.
Earlier this year, Tesla launched two base variants of the Model Y to achieve cost efficiency and practicality. The prices of these base variants and the top-end Tesla Model Y Performance remained the same in this price adjustment.
The Tesla Model Y Premium RWD variant boasts the highest EPA estimated range figure of 357 miles (~575 km), while the Premium AWD trim offers a slightly lower range of 327 miles (~526 km).
Interior and exterior options are similar for both vehicles, with the Model Y Premium AWD offering an optional 3rd-row 7-seat interior for an additional $2,500. However, it’s not as spacious as the Model Y L available in China and some other countries.
The new Marine Blue color is now available on both Model Y Premium trims, while the Frost Blue Metallic paint is exclusive to the Tesla Model Y Performance.
The $1,000 price increase in Premium Model Y variants is likely driven by higher demand. Due to tariff conflicts, Canada is not offering the US-made Model Y electric SUVs, making these specific variants only available in the United States. The Tesla Model Y is the most affordable in Canada due to Chinese imports and low tariffs of around 6.1%.
Here are the prices of all currently available Tesla Model Y variants in the United States:
– Tesla Model Y Premium RWD: $45,990
– Tesla Model Y Premium AWD: $49,990
