A recent development at Tesla’s Gigafactory in Austin, Texas has stirred up excitement among fans and industry experts alike. Drone footage captured at the site revealed a fleet of approximately 40 to 50 Tesla Cybercabs, including both matte prototypes and glossy gold versions that appear to be closer to production quality. These autonomous vehicles were seen undergoing testing on the factory’s end-of-line track and at the crash testing facility.
However, the highlight of the footage was a fully covered mystery vehicle parked near a Model Y and a Cybertruck. The vehicle was so well concealed that even its wheels were masked in white vinyl to keep its design hidden. Comparisons with the Model Y suggest that this mystery vehicle is larger, leading to speculation that it could be the long-rumored Model Y L, exclusive to the Asia Pacific markets, or possibly a prototype for a dedicated minivan.
As rumors swirl, some industry watchers believe that this mystery vehicle could be a potential successor to the Model X, which is reportedly nearing the end of its lifecycle, or a new high-capacity addition to Tesla’s lineup. Reports indicate that mass production for this vehicle could begin soon, with a potential North American launch in the near future.
Joe Tegtmeyer, who captured the footage, noted the presence of the mystery vehicle and its unique disguise, stating, “Giga Texas has a new mystery car under a cover and the wheels also masked off with white vinyl. Fortunately, I was able to get a top-down view of this one next to another Model Y and a Cybertruck for comparison.”
With the mystery vehicle sparking intense speculation and anticipation, Tesla enthusiasts eagerly await further developments and announcements from the electric vehicle giant. Stay tuned for more updates on this intriguing new addition to Tesla’s lineup.
