SpaceX’s Starlink Standard Kit is now available at an unprecedented price of $89 in select parts of the United States. This marks a significant 75% discount from its usual $349 price tag, and a whopping 85% reduction from just a year ago when it was priced at $599.
In addition to the heavily discounted hardware, new customers can also take advantage of reduced monthly service fees for the first year. The Residential Lite plan has been slashed to $59 per month (down from $80), while the standard Residential plan is now offered at $85 per month (down from $120). However, these offers are only available in areas with low service demand. Customers in high-demand regions may not see the reduced prices and could potentially face additional congestion surcharges when ordering Starlink.
This move follows Starlink’s recent decision to lower subscription prices for U.S. customers last month. Similar to the dish discount, the reduced monthly rates are also restricted to regions with lower network demand.
These pricing adjustments showcase SpaceX’s ongoing efforts to expand Starlink’s global presence and attract new subscribers. The high-speed satellite internet service now boasts over seven million users across 150 countries and territories worldwide.
Discounted Starlink hardware and plans are also accessible in Canada, although the Standard Kit has not dropped to $89 in price. Recent promotions in Canada have brought the dish down to $249 alongside lower Residential plan fees.
By aggressively reducing both upfront and recurring costs in specific markets, Starlink is clearly aiming to accelerate adoption, especially in underserved areas where traditional broadband options are limited.
