The Tesla Cybertruck Recalled Again for TPMS Issue
The Tesla Cybertruck is facing another recall, this time due to a problem with its tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS). The issue involves the TPMS light not staying on, which can prevent drivers from receiving warnings about low tire pressure.
This latest recall affects a total of 694,304 vehicles, including the 2024 Cybertruck, as well as 2017-2025 Tesla Model 3 sedans and 2020-2025 Tesla Model Y SUVs. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) reported that a software update inadvertently reset the TPMS warning light, causing it not to reappear after the vehicle is turned off and back on.

Properly inflated tires are crucial for safe driving, as driving with improperly inflated tires increases the risk of a crash. The TPMS warning lights are federally mandated under Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 138 to alert drivers of tire pressure issues.
Tesla confirmed that all recalled vehicles are affected by this TPMS issue and has received 76 related warranty claims. However, there have been no reported collisions, injuries, or fatalities linked to the problem.

Tesla has issued an over-the-air update to address the TPMS problem, eliminating the need for owners to visit service centers for recall work. Owner notification letters are scheduled to be sent out on Feb. 15, 2025, and owners can contact Tesla customer service at 1-877-798-3752 for more information. The recall reference number is SB-24-00-018.
This marks the seventh recall of the Cybertruck since its launch, with previous recalls addressing various issues such as loss of drive power, faulty windshield wiper motors, accelerator pedal obstructions, and rearview camera delays.
