Tesla has recently updated the naming of its advanced driver-assistance software in China, signaling a shift as the company gears up to launch its supervised autonomous driving system in the country. The top-tier package, priced at 64,000 yuan (approximately $9,419 USD), is now officially referred to as “Tesla Assisted Driving” on the Tesla China website.
According to the software description, this package includes all features from the basic and enhanced tiers, with the full “Tesla Assisted Driving” functionality expected to be available in the future. Tesla indicates that these vehicles will eventually be capable of handling most driving tasks with minimal driver intervention.
A screenshot shared by a Tesla North reader in China reveals the details of the different assisted driving packages available:
– Tesla Assisted Driving — ¥64,000: This package includes all features of the “Basic Assisted Driving” and “Enhanced Assisted Driving” packages. The full functionality of Tesla Assisted Driving will be released later, allowing vehicles to perform the majority of driving tasks with minimal driver intervention.
– Enhanced Assisted Driving — ¥32,000: This package includes all features of the “Basic Assisted Driving” package, along with Navigate on Autopilot, Auto Lane Change, and Autopark. Basic Summon and Smart Summon features are also available.
– Basic Assisted Driving — Included: This package includes Traffic-Aware Cruise Control and Autosteer.
This update follows Tesla’s recent announcement that its FSD (Full Self-Driving) Supervised system is now available in various markets, including China. Tesla has been working to bring these advanced features to the Chinese market while complying with local data security regulations and facing competition from domestic rivals like Xiaomi and Huawei. The company has made adjustments to labeling to align with regulatory requirements and evolving software capabilities.
Although the branding has changed, the price for the most comprehensive package remains fixed at 64,000 yuan. Tesla continues to navigate the complexities of the Chinese market as it moves forward with its autonomous driving technology.
