Tesla has recently announced exciting new customisation options for the Model Y in Australia and New Zealand, expanding the choices available to customers. One of the most notable additions is the introduction of a brand new interior colour called Zen Grey. This fresh aesthetic option offers a departure from the standard black or white choices, providing a more modern and unique look for the Model Y.
In addition to the Zen Grey Interior, Tesla has also unveiled updated wheel designs for the Premium trim of the Model Y. The new 20-inch Helix 2.0 Wheels feature a dark finish that complements the overall aesthetic of the updated Model Y, giving it a more aggressive and stylish appearance.
The Zen Grey interior brings a cohesive and uniform look to the Model Y cabin by color matching several key components that were previously finished in black on the white interior. Components such as the armrests, door grab handles, and the centre console armrest now feature the new grey tone, creating a seamless and elegant aesthetic throughout the vehicle’s touchpoints and storage surfaces.
The Premium trim of the Model Y in these markets also includes several hardware improvements over the original release. These upgrades include an upgraded suspension with frequency-dependent damping for a smoother ride, enhanced cabin technology with a new 16-inch ultra-high-definition front touchscreen and an 8-inch rear screen for passengers, improved comfort with heating and ventilation in the first-row seats, and ambient lighting that extends throughout the cabin.
The introduction of the Zen Grey interior and Helix 2.0 wheels follows the recent launch of the Model Y L in the region, a slightly longer variant that offers captain’s chairs and vehicle-to-load (V2L) capabilities. Tesla has officially discontinued the white interior option for all Model Y Premium trims produced at Giga Shanghai, replacing it with the new Zen Grey Interior across key markets in the Asia-Pacific region.
Customers in Australia and New Zealand can now order these new options via the Tesla online configurator, with delivery estimates for new orders expected in the second quarter of 2026. The minor refresh to the Model Y lineup looks sleek and stylish, and we can’t wait to see these changes make their way to North America in the future.
