Tesla’s Car Wash Mode Could Get an Upgrade with Window Alerts
Taking your Tesla through a car wash is made easier with Tesla’s Car Wash Mode, which allows you to enable or disable various features to protect your vehicle and enhance the cleaning experience. This mode not only prevents potential damage, such as locking the charge port door to avoid opening during cleaning, but it also improves the overall experience by recirculating air to eliminate chemical smells.
When activated from Controls > Service > Car Wash Mode, this feature performs a series of actions, including automatically closing all windows, locking the charge port door, disabling automatic windshield wipers, turning off Sentry Mode, and more.
One potential improvement that users have suggested is adding window alerts to Car Wash Mode. Currently, the mode does not continuously monitor the status of windows, which could lead to issues if a window is lowered after Car Wash Mode is enabled. However, Tesla’s VP of North America Sales and Service, Troy R. Jones, has shown interest in this suggestion and offered to pass it on to the software team for consideration.
While it’s not confirmed whether this feature will be added in a future update, the idea of adding window-specific alerts or locking mechanisms while Car Wash Mode is active could greatly enhance user experience and prevent potential damage.
As Tesla continues to innovate and improve its features, we look forward to seeing how they address this suggestion and what other enhancements they may introduce to Car Wash Mode. Stay tuned for updates on this exciting development.
