Tesla Considering Lumbar Support and Turn Signal Stalk Retrofit
Tesla’s Vice President of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, reached out to the X community for suggestions on how to improve Teslas for the upcoming year. The response was overwhelming, with thousands of ideas pouring in. Here are some of the highlights and potential changes that may be on the horizon.
Lumbar Profile Support
One common request was for Tesla to include lumbar support settings in driver profiles. Currently, this feature is not saved, requiring manual adjustment each time a different driver uses the vehicle. Lars mentioned that while this change may require some engineering work, it is feasible. Tesla may find a way to save user preferences for lumbar support, similar to other seat settings.
Model 3 Signal Stalk Retrofit
The debate over steering wheel buttons versus traditional stalks continues, especially with the Refreshed Model 3. Some drivers prefer the tactile feel of physical stalks for signaling. Tesla may be considering reintroducing the turn signal stalk to the Model 3, and there is a possibility of offering a retrofit option for current owners. This move would cater to those who miss the traditional stalks for signaling.
It’s encouraging to see Tesla actively seeking input from its community and implementing changes based on user feedback. As we eagerly await these potential updates, it’s clear that Tesla is committed to enhancing the driving experience for its customers.
