The highly anticipated last-ever Tesla Model S and Model X electric cars are set to be delivered to a limited number of customers soon. Originally, Tesla had planned to hold the Signature Edition Delivery Event on May 12, but due to Elon Musk’s trip to China with President Trump, the event was rescheduled to May 20, the day after Starship’s 12th flight test.
Before the event could take place, a Tesla enthusiast spotted the limited-edition Model S and X Signature vehicles outside the company’s manufacturing facility in Fremont, California. These Signature Edition vehicles have been painted in a special Garnet Red color, giving them a unique and eye-catching appearance.
Only 250 Model S and 250 Model X Signature Edition vehicles were produced, and all 500 of these vehicles have already been sold out. Owners of these cars are prohibited from selling them for one year, and if they do sell the vehicle to a third party, they will face a $50,000 fine.
The Signature Edition Tesla Model S and Model X are essentially the Plaid variant with some additional perks and features. It is interesting to note that Tesla only allowed a single person to own either a Model S or Model X Signature, not both at the same time.
The deep shades of the Garnet Red color give the vehicles a luxurious and elegant look, especially in the daylight. Tesla’s Fremont factory, where these vehicles were manufactured, has been the only car manufacturing plant producing the Model S and X EVs throughout their lifecycle.
At the upcoming event, Elon Musk will not only hand over the Model S/X Signature cars to the owners but also celebrate a farewell with them and the enthusiast community. He will share his memories of the 14-year legacy of these iconic EVs.
Garnet Red, the color chosen for the Signature Edition vehicles, symbolizes passion, protection, and strength. The deep, glowing red color of the Garnet stone is a perfect representation of the luxury and sophistication of these limited-edition Tesla vehicles.
