Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently participated in a virtual interview at the X Takeover 2025 event for Tesla and SpaceX enthusiasts in San Mateo, California. The interview, part of the “The Future, Engineered” series hosted by the Tesla Owners Silicon Valley club, covered a wide range of topics including Tesla’s Optimus robot, Semi production, Neuralink, and AI.
One of the highlights of the interview was Musk’s discussion about Optimus V3, the latest version of Tesla’s humanoid robot. Musk mentioned that the redesign from V2 is significant, with almost everything being changed. He speculated that if Tesla were to produce a billion Optimus units annually at a price of $30,000 per unit, it could generate $30 trillion in revenue.
In terms of the Tesla Semi, Musk revealed that beta builds are currently being tested and showing improvements over earlier alpha versions. These vehicles are undergoing durability testing, and production equipment is being installed in Tesla’s new facility.
There was also an exciting update on the highly anticipated new Roadster. Tesla’s VP of Vehicle Engineering, Lars Moravy, confirmed that the vehicle is still in active development and teased a super cool demo that is in the works. Musk was reportedly very excited after seeing the latest internal tech previews.
Musk also discussed the potential medical applications of Neuralink’s brain-computer interface. He suggested that the technology could someday be used to treat chronic conditions like back pain, highlighting the medical potential of Neuralink.
