Geely Group, the Chinese carmaking giant, is gearing up to expand its presence in the United States with its Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands. The company’s communications chief, Ash Sutcliffe, recently revealed in an interview with Autoline Network that Geely is looking to make its entry into the U.S. market within the next three years.
At the CES 2026 event, Geely showcased several models from its Zeekr and Lynk & Co brands, hinting that these vehicles could potentially be locally manufactured in the U.S. Sutcliffe mentioned that the Volvo factory in South Carolina could serve as a production site for these vehicles, which would include models like the Zeekr 7X and Lynk & Co 08 midsize plug-in crossovers.
The Zeekr 7X is an 800-volt electric vehicle with 400 kW charging capability, while the Lynk & Co 08 offers a big-battery plug-in hybrid option with an electric range of up to 124 miles (200 km). These models have garnered popularity in Europe but face challenges with tariffs if imported from China. Therefore, Geely is considering local assembly to overcome these barriers.
The Volvo plant in Ridgeville, South Carolina, which currently produces plug-in Volvos for the U.S. market, could potentially be the manufacturing hub for Zeekr and Lynk & Co vehicles in the U.S. With a $1.3 billion investment over the past decade, the facility has become a key manufacturing site for Geely’s brands in North America.
In 2025, Geely sold over 3 million vehicles, and the company aims to sell 3.45 million vehicles this year, with a significant portion bearing the Geely badge. Lynk & Co and Zeekr have set global sales targets of 400,000 and 300,000 units, respectively, for 2026.
While Geely also showcased the Geely EX5 electric crossover at CES 2026, there were no specific mentions of plans to introduce this brand to the U.S. market. However, with the potential entry of Zeekr and Lynk & Co in the coming years, Geely is poised to expand its presence and offer consumers a wider range of innovative and sustainable vehicles in the U.S. market. The pandemic has brought about a multitude of changes to our daily lives, and one of the most significant shifts has been the way we work. With many companies transitioning to remote work, employees have had to adapt to a new work environment and find ways to stay productive while working from home.
One of the biggest challenges of remote work is maintaining a work-life balance. Without the physical separation of a workspace and home, it can be difficult to switch off from work and fully relax. This can lead to burnout and decreased productivity in the long run.
To combat this, it’s important for remote workers to establish a routine and set boundaries between work and personal time. This could involve creating a designated workspace, setting specific work hours, and taking regular breaks throughout the day. It’s also essential to communicate with colleagues and managers about expectations and availability to ensure that work doesn’t spill over into personal time.
Another challenge of remote work is staying motivated and focused without the structure of a traditional office environment. It can be easy to get distracted by household chores, family members, or the temptation of Netflix. To stay on track, remote workers can use tools like time management apps, to-do lists, and Pomodoro timers to stay organized and focused throughout the day.
Additionally, staying connected with colleagues is crucial for remote workers to maintain a sense of community and camaraderie. Regular check-ins, virtual team meetings, and collaboration tools can help remote workers stay connected and engaged with their coworkers, even from a distance.
While remote work certainly has its challenges, it also offers a unique opportunity for flexibility and autonomy. By establishing a routine, setting boundaries, staying motivated, and staying connected with colleagues, remote workers can thrive in this new work environment and find success even in the midst of a global pandemic.
