Elon Musk Announces Full Self-Driving Launch in the UAE
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently revealed that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) could make its debut in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as early as January 2026. If Musk’s timeline holds true, FSD will soon be making its way into the Middle East, starting with the UAE.
Musk’s Promise to UAE Analyst
During a conversation on X, a UAE-based political analyst named Ahmed Sharif Al Amiri inquired about the arrival of FSD in the country. Musk responded to the query, stating, “Hopefully, next month.” This exchange sparked enthusiasm among X users, as FSD (Supervised) is expected to enable hands-off highway driving, urban navigation, and efficient parking in bustling cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
These developments followed Musk’s recent visit to the UAE, where he met with prominent figures such as the Defense Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. Musk expressed his admiration for the country by posting “UAE rocks!” on X.
Recognition for Full Self-Driving
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has garnered praise from international media outlets. Germany’s largest car magazine, Auto Bild, commended FSD’s performance during a test in Berlin’s complex urban setting. The system’s ability to navigate through heavy traffic, construction zones, pedestrian crossings, and narrow streets impressed journalist Robin Hornig.
Hornig noted that FSD’s advanced perception and unwavering attention surpassed human capabilities, stating, “Tesla FSD Supervised sees more than I do. It doesn’t get distracted and never gets tired.” The system’s reliance on vision-only sensors and continuous learning via over-the-air updates was evident during the test, with minimal intervention required.
As FSD prepares to launch in the UAE, anticipation is building for the arrival of this groundbreaking technology in the Middle East.
