Elon Musk Announces Full Self-Driving Launch in UAE by January 2026
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently revealed that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) could make its debut in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as early as January 2026. This announcement indicates a significant step towards introducing FSD technology in the Middle East, with the UAE being the first country to experience its benefits.
Musk’s Promise
During a conversation on X, a UAE-based political analyst, Ahmed Sharif Al Amiri, inquired about the timeline for FSD’s arrival in the country. Musk responded by stating, “Hopefully, next month.” This exchange sparked excitement among X users, as FSD (Supervised) promises hands-off highway driving, urban navigation, and parking assistance in bustling cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
Musk’s remarks came after his visit to the UAE, where he met with prominent figures such as the Defense Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. He also expressed his admiration for the country by posting “UAE rocks!” on X.
Recognition for FSD
Full Self-Driving (Supervised) has garnered praise from international media outlets, with Germany’s largest car magazine, Auto Bild, commending its performance during a test in Berlin’s complex urban landscape. The system’s ability to navigate through heavy traffic, construction zones, pedestrian crossings, and narrow streets impressed journalist Robin Hornig.
Hornig highlighted FSD’s exceptional perception and unwavering focus, stating, “Tesla FSD Supervised sees more than I do. It doesn’t get distracted and never gets tired.” The system’s only intervention was required when it misinterpreted a route, showcasing its advanced capabilities fueled by vision-only sensors and continuous learning through software updates.
