SpaceX has once again slashed the price of its Starlink Mini satellite dish, offering a $200 discount in the United States and Canada. The portable dish, which is now available for $299 USD in the U.S. and $399 CAD in Canada, is designed for on-the-go use, fitting easily into a backpack.
Unlike the standard Starlink dish, the Mini comes with a built-in Wi-Fi router and a kickstand for easy setup. However, users will need to subscribe to a Starlink Roam plan, starting at $50 USD ($70 CAD) per month for 50GB of data. For heavy users, there is also a $165 USD ($189 CAD) per month tier with unlimited data.
The discounted Starlink Mini is available directly from the Starlink website, as well as from Best Buy in Canada. Other third-party retailers do not appear to be offering the same deal. This promotion follows a similar offer earlier this year, where the Mini was priced at $299 for U.S. customers until the end of May.
SpaceX has been making a series of price cuts across its hardware and plans in recent months. In addition to the discounted Mini dish, the company reduced the price of its Standard dish to just $89 USD in the U.S. and $249 CAD in Canada. Residential plan rates were also lowered, and Roam plans in Canada were discounted for the first six months.
However, not all changes have been well-received by customers. SpaceX recently replaced the free Pause feature with a new $5 USD ($7 CAD) per month “Standby Mode,” which allows customers to keep their plan active but access only low-speed data when not traveling.
In Australia, SpaceX has been offering longtime Residential plan subscribers a free Starlink Mini dish and 50% off Roam plans, as part of its efforts to expand adoption of its portable service globally.
At $299 USD ($399 CAD), the Starlink Mini remains the most affordable option for accessing SpaceX’s portable satellite internet hardware. It is unclear how long this deal will be available, so interested customers should act quickly to take advantage of the discounted price.
