Elon Musk Responds to Drug Abuse Allegations
Recently, there have been reports from the Wall Street Journal and the New York Times claiming that Tesla CEO Elon Musk was abusing drugs while working with President Trump during his campaign and time in office. However, Musk has vehemently denied these allegations and has taken steps to prove his innocence.
The New York Times published a bombshell report in late May, alleging that Musk was using drugs like ketamine, ecstasy, and psychedelic mushrooms, as well as stimulants like Adderall, while serving in the Trump administration. Musk, in response, underwent a drug test at Fastest Labs of South Austin, which showed negative results across the board.
After sharing the results of his drug test on Twitter, Musk called out the New York Times for spreading lies and challenged both the New York Times and the Wall Street Journal reporters to take drug tests of their own and publish the results. Musk firmly believes that they are guilty of the same behavior they are accusing him of.
It is worth noting that Musk had previously disclosed that he had received ketamine prescriptions from doctors to treat depression, but he has not taken the drug since then. He explained that ketamine helped him navigate through dark mental states but reiterated that he has not used it in years.
Despite the allegations and the media scrutiny, Musk’s supporters have rallied around him, with many joking that if he were on drugs, they would want what he’s having due to his unwavering dedication to his work and projects.
With the results of the drug test clearing his name, Musk has effectively refuted the claims of drug abuse. While there may be legal implications for the publications that made these allegations, Musk has not indicated whether he plans to take any legal action at this time.
