Lexus RZ 550e F Sport: Emphasizing Performance
The top-tier 550e model boasts the F Sport designation with a dual-motor all-wheel drive system generating 402 hp from two 165-kw motors. Enhanced acceleration is achieved through improved efficiency in the front inverter and a larger rear motor compared to the previous RZ model. Lexus has fine-tuned the torque distribution between axles for better cornering performance, with the rear motor capable of delivering maximum torque when needed. The updated model also features revised damper and spring settings, along with new 20-inch alloy wheels for improved aerodynamics.
Enhanced Battery and Motor Systems
All Lexus RZ variants now come equipped with a larger 77-kwh lithium-ion battery pack, providing increased output and sustained performance. The lineup includes the RZ 350e with a 221-hp (165-kw) single motor and front-wheel drive, the RZ 500e with dual motors and all-wheel drive producing 375 hp (280 kw), and the powerful 402-hp RZ 550e F Sport. Notably, all-wheel-drive models can now tow up to 3,300 pounds, double the previous capacity.
Lexus claims that the enhancements to the battery and motor systems have extended the range by up to 60 miles, particularly for the RZ 350e. The introduction of a new 22-kw AC onboard charger aims to expedite Level 2 charging, while battery pre-conditioning improves DC fast-charging performance in cold conditions.
