Mercedes-Benz to Unveil Van.EA Electric Van Architecture
Mercedes-Benz is set to showcase its innovative Van.EA electric van architecture with a concept vehicle this spring. The automaker recently confirmed its plans for the van concept, releasing a teaser image that gives a glimpse of what to expect.
The Van.EA platform will mark Mercedes’ first venture into EV-specific architecture for its vans. While the automaker currently offers electric models like the eSprinter, the upcoming concept and next-generation electric vans will be built on this dedicated platform.
Mercedes-Benz previously teased camouflaged prototypes of the Van.EA platform, with plans for a 2026 production launch. The platform is designed to accommodate midsize and large vans, featuring a shared set of components and modules.
The Van.EA architecture will offer various configurations, including front-wheel drive single-motor models and dual-motor all-wheel drive options. Mercedes is also exploring applications ranging from cargo vans to luxury electric vehicles.
Mercedes’ Van.EA platform is part of a series of new EV architectures planned by the automaker. These include the MMA platform for compact cars like the 2026 Mercedes CLA and the AMG.EA platform for high-performance EVs.
