The Tesla Supercharger network has always been a top choice for electric vehicle owners in North America. With stations located almost everywhere and a seamless charging experience, it’s no surprise that Tesla Superchargers are a popular choice. However, the pricing at these stations has often been a point of contention, with charges being higher compared to other charging operators like Electrify America and EVgo.
But good news is on the horizon, as Tesla has recently implemented a slight decrease in charging prices at their Supercharger stations across the United States and Europe. Several users have noticed a decrease of around 7% in the price per kilowatt-hour, making it a more cost-effective option for electric vehicle owners. The changes were confirmed by Max de Zegher, Tesla’s global Charging boss, who emphasized the company’s goal to lower prices to accelerate EV adoption while ensuring financial sustainability for the charging network.
While the price reductions may not be significant, ranging from 5 to 10 cents per kilowatt-hour depending on the location, it’s a step in the right direction. Not all Superchargers have seen a decrease in prices, so it’s advisable to check before embarking on a road trip. Additionally, Max de Zegher revealed that the Tesla Supercharger network delivered a record-setting 12 gigawatt-hours of energy to North American customers on November 30, showcasing the network’s reliability and efficiency.
