Tesla’s highly anticipated public demonstration of its next-generation Roadster has reportedly been delayed, according to a recent report from The Information. Initially scheduled for late June, the live showcase is now rumored to be pushed back to August or potentially later.
The delay is said to be linked to the ongoing development and integration of the vehicle’s unique SpaceX-inspired thruster system. The upcoming presentation is expected to feature a limited-edition SpaceX package with “A71” cold gas thrusters. These thrusters, borrowed from Falcon 9 rocket technology, are designed to give the electric supercar an astonishing zero-to-60 mph acceleration time of under one second and the ability to perform brief hops off the ground.
Although the base model of the next-generation Roadster boasts an impressive top speed exceeding 250 mph and a driving range of over 620 miles, it is the sci-fi thruster package that continues to captivate enthusiasts. Elon Musk, Tesla’s CEO, has previously teased the next Roadster demo as something “insane” that will “blow your mind.”
While Tesla has not officially confirmed the schedule change, the possibility of the August timeline remains unverified at this time. The first prototype of the new Roadster was unveiled back in 2017, and fans have been eagerly awaiting its official debut.
Stay tuned for more updates on Tesla’s next-generation Roadster and the anticipated showcase of its groundbreaking features. The future of electric supercars is set to be revolutionized with the integration of SpaceX technology, promising an unparalleled driving experience for enthusiasts worldwide.
