A Vancouver-based content creator, Devin Olsen, is gearing up for an exciting challenge – a cross-country drive across Canada relying solely on Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) technology in a brand new Model 3. Joining him on this ambitious journey are team members David Moss and @scotsrule08. The trio plans to depart from the Vancouver area this Sunday, May 24, with the ultimate goal of reaching the Atlantic coast using FSD version 14.3.3.
This daring feat follows Moss’s previous success in the United States, where he made headlines by driving thousands of miles with FSD without any interventions. The team intends to document every aspect of their journey through live streams and regular updates. While the specific route has yet to be finalized, the group aims to steer clear of major metropolitan areas like Toronto, focusing instead on the long-distance trek across the country. To ensure the integrity of their attempt, Olsen emphasized that they will keep a camera rolling throughout the trip to provide concrete evidence of the vehicle’s performance.
One key aspect the team is currently focusing on is mapping out charging logistics, particularly in parts of Eastern Canada where the availability of Superchargers may be less predictable. This project seeks to showcase the current capabilities of Tesla’s autonomous driving software in various Canadian driving conditions.
This Canadian coast-to-coast challenge follows a similar successful FSD ‘Cannonball’ run in the United States, where FSD technology navigated from Los Angeles to New York City without any interventions. The team is determined to push the boundaries and demonstrate the potential of Tesla’s autonomous driving software in real-world scenarios.
Stay tuned for updates on this groundbreaking journey as Devin Olsen and his team embark on this epic adventure across the Great White North.
