Tesla has officially launched the Model Y L in Singapore, marking a significant milestone for the electric vehicle company in the region. Senior executive Tom Zhu shared the exciting news on X, congratulating the first group of owners who received their vehicles in a special delivery event. The Model Y L, with its long-wheelbase and three-row design, is specifically tailored to meet the demand for premium, family-sized electric vehicles in the Asia-Pacific market.
Manufactured at Gigafactory Shanghai, where it made its debut in August 2025, the Model Y L features a stretched chassis and heightened roofline, offering a spacious and luxurious interior. The vehicle’s extended length of nearly five meters allows for a premium 2+2+2 seating layout, with the second row boasting ventilated captain’s chairs and power-reclining capabilities. The third row comfortably accommodates passengers, making it a popular choice for families.
Following its success in China, Tesla has expanded the availability of the Model Y L to various markets in Asia, including Japan, South Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, Australia, New Zealand, and India. The electric SUV is equipped with a substantial 97.25 kWh battery pack in select regions, providing impressive performance with 456 horsepower and a WLTP-rated range of up to 681 kilometers. The Model Y L also features a real-time adaptive comfort suspension, improved aerodynamics with a low drag coefficient, and a Vehicle-to-Load function that can power external tools or camping equipment.
The launch of the Model Y L in Singapore has sparked interest from Tesla fans in other regions, with many eagerly awaiting its availability in North America and Europe. As the electric vehicle market continues to grow, Tesla’s expansion into new markets with innovative and high-performance models like the Model Y L showcases the company’s commitment to sustainable transportation and cutting-edge technology.
