Tesla has bid farewell to the Deep Blue Metallic paint after many years of service. This color has been a staple in Tesla’s color palette for a long time, but now it has been phased out globally. For new orders worldwide, the Deep Blue Metallic color is no longer available.
In place of the Deep Blue Metallic color, Tesla has introduced two new colors for the higher-end trims of the Model Y and Model 3 – Marine Blue and Frost Blue Metallic. The Premium variants of the Model Y and 3 in the United States now offer the new Marine Blue color as a replacement for the Deep Blue Metallic. The Frost Blue Metallic color, on the other hand, is only available for the Model 3 and Model Y Performance variants.
The Frost Blue Metallic color was initially introduced for the Model S and Model X last year. It is a lighter, cooler shade of blue that is similar to the Glacier Blue color of the Model Y Juniper made in Giga Shanghai.
The Marine Blue color, as seen in the images, is a darker shade of blue inspired by the deep oceans. It is darker and deeper than the Deep Blue Metallic color that it replaces.
The availability and pricing of these new colors vary by region. The Frost Blue Metallic color is currently not available in Canada and Europe, while the Marine Blue color is available in these regions. In Europe, the Marine Blue color costs an additional €1,300 for both Model 3/Y Premium AWD and Performance versions.
In Canada, Marine Blue is included in the price of the Model 3/Y Performance trims, but it costs an additional CAD$1,300 for the All-Wheel Drive Premium Model Y and Model 3 variants. In the US, all premium color options are included in the price of the Model 3 or Model Y Performance, with Marine Blue costing an additional $1,000 for Model 3/Y Premium.
Overall, these new color options provide Tesla customers with more choices and variety when customizing their vehicles. It’s always exciting to see new additions to Tesla’s lineup and how they continue to innovate and offer unique options to their customers.
