Lucid Gravity: A New Contender in the Electric SUV Market
In 2024, I had the pleasure of test driving the Lucid Air Touring, a vehicle that highlighted the perfect blend of driving dynamics and luxury. Fast forward to 2026, where I had the opportunity to explore its sibling, the Lucid Gravity, at the Canadian International Auto Show in Toronto.
Although I didn’t get to drive the Gravity this time, I did get a ride-along experience in the Gravity Touring and spent some time inside the Grand Touring trim.
As someone accustomed to driving a Cybertruck and having experience with Tesla models, I was eager to compare Lucid’s new SUV to Tesla’s flagship vehicles.

The Gravity continues Lucid’s trend of using high-quality materials in the cabin. Whether it’s the premium leather or the soft textiles, the seating and dashboard exude opulence.
Compared to Tesla’s vegan leather, Lucid’s choice of full hides and textured accents adds a unique warmth to the Gravity’s interior.
Sleek Design & Lighting
While the Gravity’s dashboard may be busier than Tesla’s, the overall design remains clean and elegant. Dynamic ambient lighting enhances the cabin’s ambiance, providing a tailored environment.
Lucid’s implementation of ambient lighting feels integrated and adds to the overall luxury of the interior.
Precision Craftsmanship
The fit and finish of the Gravity GT are meticulous, with no visible panel gaps and solid interior surfaces. Unlike some Tesla models, the Gravity excels in build quality, showcasing Lucid’s attention to detail.

The Gravity offers ample cargo space, with the frunk being a standout feature. The powered frunk provides additional storage and can even double as a tailgating bench, setting it apart from traditional SUVs.
Additionally, the Gravity’s frunk is designed for ease of use, eliminating the need to maneuver around it when accessing storage.

Despite initial comparisons to a minivan, the Gravity’s exterior design is sleek and sporty. The curved lines and sharp features give it a dynamic look, setting it apart from conventional SUVs.
The full glass roof and massive windshield add to the vehicle’s concept, contributing to its aerodynamic efficiency.
Smooth Ride & Advanced Technology
