Tesla Introduces 500 kW V4 Superchargers in the U.S.
Tesla is making significant strides in expanding its charging infrastructure with the introduction of the latest V4 Superchargers. The company’s Gigafactory in New York has completed the assembly of its final V3 Supercharger cabinet, marking a shift towards V4 hardware production. This move signifies Tesla’s commitment to enhancing charging technology to meet the growing demands of electric vehicle owners.
Renowned Tesla enthusiast @sawyermerritt has reported that Tesla has already launched four operational 500 kW V4 Supercharging stations in the United States. These cutting-edge charging hubs are now a reality, offering faster and more efficient charging capabilities for electric vehicles.
Locations of 500 kW Superchargers
The deployment of these high-speed charging stations has been ongoing, with recent openings in various states across the country. Some of the locations where you can find 500 kW-capable Superchargers in the U.S. include:
-
Kissimmee, Florida (Newly opened)
-
Gatlinburg, Tennessee (Opened last week)
-
Taylorsville, Utah (Opened in January 2026)
-
Redwood City, California (First site with V4 cabinets, opened in September 2025)
While the 500 kW charging speed is currently exclusive to the Cybertruck due to its advanced high-voltage architecture, other Tesla models can still benefit from the 250 kW peak rates available on V3 hardware.
Transition to V4 Technology
Tesla’s initial V4 Supercharger stalls were introduced in March 2023, but the full V4 experience requires the integration of both new stalls and cabinets. The latest V4 cabinets offer enhanced efficiency, with each cabinet capable of powering up to eight charging stalls. This improved design allows for quicker deployment of new sites at a lower cost.
As Tesla embraces a more universal approach by opening its Supercharger network to other manufacturers, the V4 hardware’s versatility becomes essential. With advancements like longer cables and centralized payment kiosks, Tesla is paving the way for a seamless charging experience for all electric vehicle drivers.
With Gigafactory New York now focused entirely on V4 cabinet production, Tesla’s high-speed Superchargers are set to become widespread in the near future, offering an upgraded charging solution for all Tesla owners.
