Tesla recently shared its 2026 Chinese New Year charging milestones, showcasing a significant increase in holiday travel throughout its Supercharging network. From February 15 to February 23, Tesla owners in Mainland China collectively drove over 98 million kilometers, resulting in a carbon reduction of over 30,000 tons – equivalent to planting approximately 1.22 million trees.
To commemorate the Year of the Horse, Tesla is hosting a special event where owners have the opportunity to win ¥50,000 (approximately $9,500 CAD) in Supercharging credits. To enter the giveaway, owners must complete two tasks by March 6, 2026. Firstly, they must unlock the “CNY Explorer” Badge within the Tesla app, and secondly, share their badge page on social media platforms. The winner will be chosen based on the highest Supercharging energy usage recorded between February 9 and the contest deadline.
Tesla’s network in China boasts over 2,500 Supercharger stations and 12,700 individual charging piles. Throughout the holiday period, the network maintained an impressive 99.95% availability rate and supported over 530,000 individual journeys. Owners can now view their personalized Charging Footprint in the Tesla mobile app, allowing them to track their total energy consumption (kWh) and charging costs specifically for the Year of the Horse celebrations.
The grand prize winner will be contacted by Tesla via their official charging social media account within 7 working days after the event concludes on March 6. This initiative not only highlights Tesla’s commitment to sustainable transportation but also rewards owners for their contributions towards reducing carbon emissions during the festive season.
