Exciting Updates in Store for Tesla FSD V13
Tesla has recently unveiled the features that will be included in the highly anticipated FSD v13 update as part of its AI roadmap. With a focus on improving performance and safety, there are several key enhancements to look forward to.
One of the major upgrades in FSD v13 is the implementation of higher resolution video and native AI. By utilizing AI4’s native camera resolution and increasing the capture rate to 36 FPS, Tesla aims to provide a clearer image for improved object detection. While this advancement will require additional processing power, it is expected to enhance the overall performance of FSD.
In addition, Tesla is expanding the size of the FSD model and increasing the context length by three times. This means that FSD will have access to a larger pool of data to make more informed decisions. By increasing the amount of training data and compute power, Tesla is further enhancing the capabilities of FSD.
Another significant update is the integration of audio intake into FSD’s models, with a focus on better handling of emergency vehicles. Tesla is also working on improvements to collision avoidance, navigation, and traffic control adherence to enhance safety and predictability.
Furthermore, Tesla is working on aligning the map representation with FSD’s path planner to ensure accurate navigation. Additional features such as Unpark, Reverse, and Park capabilities, as well as improved camera self-cleaning and handling of camera occlusion, are also in the pipeline.
Tesla has announced that FSD v13 will be released to employees this week, with a public release expected around v13.3. While there may be delays, the upcoming FSD v13 update is set to offer significant advancements in autonomous driving capabilities.
