Volvo Teases Next EV Following ES90 Reveal
During the recent unveiling of the ES90 electric vehicle, Volvo gave a sneak peek of what could be its upcoming EV.
The live stream on Volvo’s YouTube channel showcased a glimpse of the EX60, the electric version of the popular Volvo XC60 crossover SUV expected to launch in 2026. At around the 24-minute mark, viewers caught a brief look at a clay model of the EX60 with a license plate confirming its identity.

This teaser revealed a split-taillight design similar to the EX30 and EX90 models, suggesting the EX60 will fit between these two in size. The use of mega castings for the SPA3 platform will bring greater scalability to the EX60, improving manufacturing efficiency.
The upcoming SPA3 platform is set to share an electrical architecture and software-defined-vehicle approach with SPA2, showcasing Volvo’s commitment to advanced technology. The ES90, with its aerodynamic design and 800-volt charging capability, sets the stage for future innovations in Volvo’s electric vehicle lineup.

Volvo’s Superset technology stack aims to enhance software-based features in its vehicles, with the ES90 leading the way in performance and innovation. While European orders are now open for the ES90, details about its U.S. launch are yet to be revealed.
