New Tesla Features on the Horizon: Tire Fill Assist and Routing Enhancements
With the recent Tesla software update 2025.8, there have been numerous hidden features uncovered. Now, renowned Tesla hacker Greentheonly has identified two more exciting features that are set to be introduced in the near future.
It’s always fascinating to get a glimpse into Tesla’s upcoming developments, so let’s delve into these two upcoming features and see what the software team has in store for us.
Tire Fill Assist
The first upcoming feature is called “Tire Fill Assist.” While details are scarce at the moment, we can speculate on its potential uses.
Tesla already utilizes smart TPMS sensors and Smart Tire Treat Sensors to communicate tire pressure information to the vehicle via Bluetooth, making it convenient to monitor tire pressure. However, when it comes to inflating tires, you typically need a tire pressure gauge or access the vehicle’s dashboard for pressure readings.
Tire Fill Assist could be a feature accessible in the vehicle’s Service panel that actively monitors the Bluetooth TPMS while you’re inflating the tires. This feature may enhance the real-time transmission of tire pressure data for a period, providing audible feedback through the vehicle’s speakers when the tire pressure approaches the desired level.
Similar features are available in other vehicles, so it’s not surprising that Tesla is incorporating a version of it in their software.
Routing Option: Lower Price
Another upcoming option highlighted by Green is a new routing feature focused on cost savings. This feature could factor in Supercharger pricing, offering drivers various routing options based on pricing fluctuations throughout the day.
Drivers will have the ability to select a “View Lower Cost Charging” option to explore cheaper charging stations that may be slightly off the beaten path. This feature provides a balance between speed and savings, allowing drivers to prioritize their preferences.
Earlier this year, Tesla introduced similar routing options in China, including fastest route, least congested route, and prefer highways. This new feature could be the beginning of a similar feature set in other regions, potentially including the long-awaited option to avoid highways.
Tesla already redirects vehicles to alternative Superchargers when there is a wait time at a particular site, and this new feature will offer a similar functionality but based on the user’s price preference rather than congestion levels.
Although these additions may seem minor, they are sure to enhance the overall driving experience in specific scenarios. Green discovered these features within the production build of 2025.8, indicating that they may be available for users to experience soon.
