Hyundai has recently released a teaser of the interior of the upcoming Ioniq 9, a three-row electric SUV set to debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The company promises a “lounge-like” cabin that will offer a unique and unparalleled customer experience.
The Ioniq 9 is based on the E-GMP architecture, similar to the Kia EV9, and is expected to feature a powertrain comparable to its Kia counterpart. With seating for up to seven people, the Ioniq 9 will be larger than the gas-powered Palisade, according to Hyundai.
The interior teaser reveals a rounded aesthetic with oval cutouts and round door releases on the door cards. Front seat controls are positioned next to the front door release, and deep door pockets are visible. A Bose sound system is expected, as indicated by the branding in the trunk, and rear passengers may have access to cupholders and USB sockets.
Despite the sloping roofline, headroom in the third row may be limited for adults. However, the flat floor design of the E-GMP platform should make moving between rows effortless. Hyundai promises that the interior design of the Ioniq 9 will provide a distinctive and unparalleled customer experience.
The Ioniq 9 will be Hyundai’s first large SUV and its first all-electric three-row SUV. Manufactured in the United States alongside the Ioniq 5 and Kia EV9, the Ioniq 9 is a significant addition to Hyundai’s electric vehicle lineup. Originally known as the Ioniq 7, the name change to Ioniq 9 hints at the possibility of additional electric SUV models from Hyundai in the future.
The highly anticipated Hyundai Ioniq 9 will make its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show on November 21. Stay tuned for more details on this flagship EV as it prepares to hit the market.
