Ford is gearing up for another exciting challenge at Pikes Peak this year with the introduction of the Super Mustang Mach-E. This electric vehicle is set to take on the legendary hill climb competition with its impressive performance capabilities.
The Super Mustang Mach-E boasts an incredible 1,421 horsepower generated by three electric motors, surpassing last year’s winning F-150 Lightning SuperTruck. In addition to its power, the car has been designed to be lighter, shedding 250 pounds compared to its predecessor.
Equipped with a 50-kilowatt-hour battery, the Super Mustang Mach-E is capable of delivering 700 volts of electricity to its motors and can harness up to 710 kW through regenerative braking. This ensures that the car has the necessary power to conquer the challenging Pikes Peak course.
One of the standout features of the Super Mustang Mach-E is its exceptional downforce capabilities. With a carbon fiber aero package, the car can generate a staggering 6,900 pounds of downforce at 150 mph, reaching up to 12,000 lbs at higher speeds. This level of downforce is essential for keeping the car stable through the 156 turns of Pikes Peak.
To complement its performance, the Super Mustang Mach-E is equipped with forged magnesium wheels, Pirelli P-Zero tires, and carbon brakes for optimal handling and stopping power. The car will be piloted by Romain Dumas, a Pikes Peak veteran and record holder, who is determined to secure another win for Ford.
With Ford’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of electric vehicle technology, the Super Mustang Mach-E represents the next evolution in electrification. The team is confident in their chances for success at Pikes Peak and is eager to showcase the car’s capabilities in high-altitude competition.
As the 2025 Pikes Peak International Hill Climb approaches, all eyes will be on Ford and the Super Mustang Mach-E as they aim for victory once again. Stay tuned for the thrilling competition happening this weekend on June 22. Ford is ready to take on the challenge and demonstrate the potential of electric vehicles in motorsport.
