General Motors made headlines at the beginning of the year with record-breaking EV sales, setting the stage for a groundbreaking addition to their lineup: the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V. This all-electric powerhouse marks a new chapter for GM’s performance models, carrying the legacy of the V-Series into the electric era.
The standard Cadillac Lyriq already impresses with 515 horsepower from its dual-motor setup, but the Lyriq-V takes things up a notch. Boasting 615 hp and 650 pound-feet of torque, this model is not for the faint of heart. To match its performance, the Lyriq-V features menacing black accents throughout its design, signaling its intentions on the road.
But power is just one aspect of the Lyriq-V’s performance package. Equipped with a V-mode button on the steering wheel, drivers can unleash the full potential of the vehicle with a simple press. This Competitive Mode maximizes traction and activates a unique sound experience, setting the stage for an exhilarating ride.
Acceleration is where the Lyriq-V truly shines, with launch control propelling the vehicle from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.3 seconds. This impressive feat puts it ahead of the CT5-V Blackwing, showcasing the electric model’s performance capabilities.
Chassis enhancements ensure that the Lyriq-V can effectively harness all that power. Specially calibrated adaptive dampers, a quicker steering ratio, and Brembo performance brake calipers on the front wheels enhance handling and stopping power. The “Velocity Max” drive-selectable setting unleashes the full potential of the vehicle’s powertrain, delivering a thrilling driving experience.
In terms of range, the Lyriq-V is estimated to offer 285 miles on a 102-kilowatt-hour lithium-ion battery. While slightly slower in charging speeds compared to the regular models, it can still add up to 75 miles of range in just 10 minutes.
Visually, the Lyriq-V stands out with a redesigned lower air intake, blacked-out 22-inch wheels, and a black-painted roof. Inside, an augmented reality heads-up display, power-adjustable seat bolsters, and V-Series graphics on the infotainment system enhance the driving experience.
Production of the Lyriq-V is set to begin this quarter at GM’s Spring Hill, Tennessee plant. The vehicle will be available in select markets, including the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand. Priced at $79,990, the Lyriq-V offers a compelling blend of performance and luxury in the electric vehicle segment.
With the 2026 Cadillac Lyriq-V, General Motors is ushering in a new era of electric performance, setting a new standard for high-performance electric vehicles. Stay tuned for more updates on this groundbreaking model as it hits the roads in the near future.
