Ford has officially confirmed that the current-generation Ford F-150 Lightning is no more. The announcement came amidst a slew of electric vehicle news, including the revelation that the next-generation Lightning would be an extended-range electric vehicle (EREV). Ford slipped in the news that the existing F-150 Lightning will not survive beyond 2025.
Andrew Frick, the president of Ford Blue and Ford Model e, revealed during a conference call with reporters that production of the 2025 model-year Lightning had already ceased. He cited market realities and customer preferences as the driving factors behind this decision. Unfortunately, production will not resume for future models, effectively ending the Lightning as a model in the Ford lineup until the gas-generator version arrives.
The production of the F-150 had already been paused due to a supplier fire that limited F-150 production. Ford made the strategic decision to prioritize restarting production of its gas-burning trucks, as they are both more profitable and popular. This led to rumors back in November that the F-150 Lightning was on its way out, but the company had initially stated that production at the plant would resume.
A spokesperson confirmed that they have sufficient inventories of the F-150 Lightning and plan to bring the Rouge Electric Vehicle Center (REVC) back up at the right time. However, an exact date for this revival has not been provided yet.
While the Ford F-150 Lightning may eventually make a comeback, it won’t be in the form of the current model. The future of the Lightning remains uncertain, but Ford is committed to exploring new opportunities in the electric vehicle market. The world of technology is constantly evolving, with new and innovative products being introduced every day. One such product that has gained popularity in recent years is the smartwatch. These wearable devices offer a wide range of features and functionalities, making them a versatile and convenient accessory for tech-savvy individuals.
Smartwatches are essentially mini computers that you wear on your wrist. They are designed to sync with your smartphone, allowing you to access notifications, calls, messages, and apps directly from your wrist. Many smartwatches also offer fitness tracking capabilities, allowing users to monitor their daily activity levels, heart rate, and sleep patterns.
One of the key benefits of smartwatches is their convenience. Instead of constantly reaching for your phone to check notifications or messages, you can simply glance at your wrist to stay connected. This can be particularly useful in situations where pulling out your phone is not practical or safe, such as during a workout or while driving.
Another advantage of smartwatches is their health and fitness tracking features. Many smartwatches come equipped with sensors that can monitor your heart rate, track your steps, and even provide insights into your sleep patterns. This can be invaluable for individuals looking to improve their overall health and wellness.
In addition to their practicality, smartwatches also offer a touch of style and personalization. With a wide range of designs and customizations available, you can choose a smartwatch that suits your personal taste and lifestyle. Whether you prefer a sleek and minimalist design or a bold and colorful one, there is a smartwatch out there for everyone.
As technology continues to advance, smartwatches are likely to become even more sophisticated and feature-rich. From built-in GPS and NFC capabilities to advanced health monitoring sensors, the possibilities for smartwatch technology are endless. Whether you are a fitness enthusiast, a busy professional, or simply a tech enthusiast, a smartwatch can be a valuable addition to your daily routine.
