Oracle Cloud Partners with xAI to Bring Advanced AI Model to Corporate Customers
xAI’s Grok 3 has teamed up with Oracle Cloud to provide its state-of-the-art AI model to businesses. This collaboration was officially announced by Oracle earlier this week, with the aim of utilizing Oracle’s powerful infrastructure to offer xAI’s Grok 3 as a game-changing tool for various business applications.
Clay Magouyrk, Executive Vice President at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, shared on LinkedIn, “Today, we announced xAI has chosen Oracle to make xAI’s Grok models available through OCI Generative AI service for a wide range of use cases. We will leverage OCI’s top-notch AI infrastructure for training and running inferencing for our next-generation Grok models.”
With Oracle’s cost-effective AI capabilities, xAI’s Grok 3 will be able to handle demanding workloads more efficiently, resulting in faster processing for enterprise users.
According to Oracle’s Karan Batta in a statement to Reuters, “Our objective is to offer a range of models – we do not develop our own. Oracle will host Grok 3 in conjunction with models from Meta, Mistral, and Cohere, ensuring the security of corporate data within Oracle’s existing protective measures.”
Oracle’s strategy of integrating popular AI models into corporate software is further bolstered by the addition of xAI’s Grok 3. This partnership expands Grok’s accessibility to businesses in need of secure and high-performance AI solutions for a variety of applications.
Elon Musk’s xAI launched Grok 3 in February, positioning it against models from competitors like DeepSeek and OpenAI. While Grok 3 is free for all X users, additional advanced features such as DeepResearch and Think modes are available to Premium and Premium+ subscribers. Basic features of Grok 3 can be accessed by non-paying users.
It is worth noting that Elon Musk’s companies have had a longstanding relationship with Oracle. In 2018, Tesla appointed Oracle founder Larry Ellison to its board, a move that was praised as a strategic decision by analysts.
During the 2023 Oracle CloudWorld conference in Las Vegas, Ellison, who is no longer on Tesla’s board but remains close with Musk, teased plans for a Tesla Cybertruck police car, stating, “Our next-generation police car is coming out very soon. It’s my favorite police car. It’s my favorite car, actually. It’s Elon’s favorite car.”
The integration of Grok 3 into Oracle Cloud further solidifies xAI’s position in the corporate AI market. By combining Oracle’s robust infrastructure with Grok’s advanced capabilities, this partnership has the potential to revolutionize AI adoption in enterprises, driving innovation across various industries.
