Tesla is once again revolutionizing the driving experience with its latest Holiday Update, blurring the line between car and AI assistant. The standout feature of this update is the introduction of Grok with Navigation Commands (Beta), which allows drivers to configure, edit, and manage their Tesla’s navigation using natural language commands.
With software version 2025.44.25.1, Tesla owners can now simply converse with Grok and instruct it on where they want to go in plain English. Whether it’s adding multiple stops, removing destinations mid-trip, or reordering stops, Grok can handle it all without the need for any manual input on the screen. For those with Full Self-Driving (Supervised) enabled, the car can even drive itself to the specified destinations.
This new capability is powered by xAI’s Grok 4.1 Fast model, demonstrating the close collaboration between Tesla and xAI. Yuhuai (Tony) Wu, co-founder of xAI, confirmed this by stating that the feature is “Powered by Grok 4.1 Fast!” This integration of AI technology into the driving experience showcases Tesla’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of autonomous driving.
The rollout of Grok to vehicles earlier this year marked the first step towards deeper AI integration inside Tesla cars.
