Tesla’s New Maintenance Summary Feature: Keeping Track of Your Vehicle’s Maintenance

Recently, Tesla introduced a convenient new feature called Maintenance Summary, designed to help Tesla owners easily track their vehicle’s maintenance history. These digital records are permanently associated with the vehicle, making it simple to access even after selling or trading it in.

Let’s delve into what the Maintenance Summary includes, how to access it, and how both owners and future owners can benefit from this feature.

Accessing the Maintenance Summary

To access the Maintenance Summary, simply go to Controls > Service and click on the Maintenance button. You will then be presented with a list of maintenance items specific to your vehicle, along with details such as when the maintenance was last performed and how often it’s required.

While the list includes common maintenance tasks, it may not cover all potential maintenance needs. The primary goal is to highlight the most common consumer-oriented maintenance tasks in a user-friendly format. Tasks like wiper blade replacements, filter replacements, and tire rotations are among the items listed.

By tapping on an individual item, you can mark it as completed without any additional input. The system will automatically record the action, including the date and odometer reading, and calculate the next maintenance interval. Any maintenance performed by Tesla will also be automatically added to the Maintenance Summary.

In the top right corner, there is a “Request Service” button that provides easy access to scheduling service through the Tesla App.

Consumer-Friendly Service History

The Maintenance Summary is essentially a simplified version of Tesla’s more comprehensive Service History feature available in Service Mode. Service History allows users to manually input details for each maintenance item, including mileage and date. It also shows correction codes and who added the record, ensuring transparency in the vehicle’s maintenance history.

Owners can easily manage seasonal tire swaps and replacements through the Wheel & Tire Menu without accessing Service History.
