Tesla has recently unveiled a new all-wheel drive Cybertruck, starting at $59,990, making it the most affordable option yet for this controversial vehicle. While this price is still higher than the initial promise of $40,000 made by Elon Musk, it represents a significant price drop from previous models. In an effort to boost sales, Tesla has also slashed the price of the high-end Cyberbeast variant by $15,000.
The new dual motor AWD Cybertruck is now available on Tesla’s website. Compared to the rear-wheel drive version that was discontinued shortly after its launch, this new model comes with additional features such as a powered tonneau cover, bed outlets, and adaptive damping. The only trade-off is a slightly shorter range of 325 miles, down from 350 miles due to the second motor.
Meanwhile, the tri-motor Cyberbeast has seen its price reduced to $99,990, marking the third time it has been priced at this level. After initially launching at this price, the Cyberbeast saw fluctuations in pricing, going up and down before settling back at the original price. For potential buyers, this uncertainty may serve as a reminder to seize the opportunity while the price remains stable.
With sales of the Cybertruck reportedly dropping by 48% in 2025, Tesla is likely motivated to keep prices competitive to attract more buyers. Estimates suggest that only around 20,000 Cybertrucks were sold in the entire year, falling short of Musk’s ambitious projection of 250,000 units annually. This downward trend in sales emphasizes the importance of offering competitive pricing and features to entice consumers.
It will be interesting to see how these price adjustments impact the popularity and sales of the Cybertruck moving forward. As Tesla continues to refine its electric vehicle offerings, the market response to these changes will serve as a key indicator of consumer demand for sustainable transportation options.
