Tesla North has reported that Tesla has officially launched a new Robotaxi sign-up website for users across the U.S. to register for early access to the company’s upcoming autonomous ride-hailing service. The new portal, available at tesla.com/robotaxi, allows users to sign up to be among the first to take a fully autonomous ride in a Model Y Robotaxi when the service becomes available in their area.
The website also teases Tesla’s vision for a future where the next ride you hail will be a Cybercab, the company’s planned vehicle designed for autonomous driving from the ground up. This announcement comes on the heels of Tesla sending out limited invites for its Robotaxi commercial service launch in Austin, Texas, on June 22.
The initial deployment in Austin will see approximately 10 Robotaxi vehicles on the road, geo-fenced to avoid complex intersections and supervised by Tesla Safety Monitors sitting in the passenger seat. Photos and videos of self-driving Model Y Robotaxi prototypes have been circulating online, generating excitement among EV enthusiasts and tech enthusiasts alike.
With the launch of the sign-up portal and the impending pilot in Austin, Tesla is signaling that its long-promised Robotaxi service is moving beyond internal testing and closer to public availability. While initial rides will be limited to specific markets, including Austin, the company’s ultimate goal is a nationwide rollout as regulatory approvals and Full Self-Driving (FSD) capabilities mature.
Individuals interested in experiencing autonomous transportation firsthand can now register their interest directly through Tesla’s website. As Tesla continues to expand its Robotaxi network, the launch in Austin will represent a significant milestone in the company’s broader autonomous mobility ambitions.
