Tesla Unveils Plans for CyberCanopy Supercharger with RGB Lighting and UFO-Inspired Design
Back in 2023, Tesla introduced an innovative Supercharger site concept featuring a CyberCanopy designed to harness solar power for Supercharging. Although the initial plans did not progress beyond the filing stage, Tesla recently revealed a new CyberCanopy design with RGB lighting, signaling a futuristic direction for its Supercharger network.
The upcoming CyberCanopy 2 Supercharger is slated for Roswell, New Mexico, at the local Whataburger establishment. With only eight stalls, this compact Supercharger site promises a unique charging experience. The Cybertruck-themed canopy will be equipped with solar panels, providing both shelter and sustainable energy generation.
At night, the Supercharger will illuminate with RGB lighting along the edges of the canopy, reminiscent of the Cybertruck’s lightbar design. This aesthetic feature not only enhances visibility but also adds a touch of innovation to the charging experience.
Tesla’s commitment to creating Superchargers that are destinations in themselves is evident in this new design. By integrating solar panels and striking lighting elements, Tesla aims to redefine the charging experience and make Supercharger stops more appealing to customers.
Although this particular Supercharger site does not include energy storage capabilities, Tesla plans to offset grid impact and potentially contribute energy back to the grid. With the introduction of V4 Superchargers, including more powerful charging options, such as 500kW for Cybertruck owners, the future of Tesla’s Supercharger network looks promising.
By continuing to innovate and deploy visually striking Supercharger sites around the world, Tesla is not only setting a new standard for electric vehicle charging but also making a positive impact on the environment. The fusion of technology, sustainability, and design in these Supercharger sites reflects Tesla’s commitment to a greener, more futuristic transportation ecosystem.
