Tesla is making strides in expanding its Supercharger network, with the construction of the largest Supercharger site in Canada nearing completion in Ajax, Ontario. The new station boasts 44 next-generation V4 stalls and is currently in its final phase of construction.
Construction crews have been diligently working on the site since May 2025, with the team from contractor JML Electric recently beginning completion work and terminations to prepare for inspections, testing, and utility connections before the chargers can officially go live.
All of the stalls at the Ajax location will be equipped with Tesla’s new V4 Superchargers, featuring longer 3-meter charging cables for enhanced accessibility, multiple safety and durability enhancements, and a design that accommodates non-Tesla vehicles as well. Earlier this summer, Tesla introduced V4 Superchargers in China, with more installations expected globally in the coming months.
Once operational, the Ajax Supercharger will significantly bolster charging capacity for Tesla owners and other EV drivers in Ontario, particularly along busy travel routes east of Toronto. Tesla’s ongoing goal is to make its Supercharging infrastructure the cornerstone of fast charging in North America.
While Tesla had initially targeted 2025 for the opening of the Ajax site, the exact launch date will depend on local utilities, which can sometimes delay final activation by weeks or months. Despite potential delays, the new Supercharger will undoubtedly enhance the charging experience for EV drivers in the region.
