The highly anticipated sub-$60,000 Tesla Cybertruck has seen a sudden price increase, just 10 days after the launch of a new Dual Motor All-Wheel Drive (AWD) trim at $59,990. The price has now been raised to $69,990, following a warning from CEO Elon Musk that the lower price would only be available for a limited time.
This price hike comes after a surge in demand for the Cybertruck, with delivery dates now pushed back to as late as April 2027. The initial estimated delivery date of June 2026 quickly shifted to the fall, and now new buyers are facing an even longer wait to get their hands on the electric truck.
Industry analysts believe that the 17% price increase was a strategic move by Tesla to capitalize on the urgency created by the limited-time offer. By announcing the price would go up after 10 days, Tesla managed to generate a wave of high demand for the Cybertruck.
Despite the $10,000 price hike, the base AWD model still offers impressive features, including a 4.1-second 0–60 mph time, 325 miles of range according to EPA estimates, Powershare capability with bed outlets, and a Tactical Grey interior. To achieve this lower price point compared to the Premium AWD model, Tesla made some changes such as swapping the adaptive air suspension for coil springs with adaptive damping and removing luxury features like the rear entertainment screen and ventilated seats.
For those interested in purchasing a Cybertruck, there is still an opportunity to get a $1,000 bonus off the more expensive Premium version through a referral link. Additionally, buyers can also receive 3 months of free FSD with a Model 3 or Model Y, along with $1,000 off a Model S and X while they are still available.
The Cybertruck continues to generate excitement and demand in the electric vehicle market, despite the recent price increase. With its unique design and impressive capabilities, the Tesla Cybertruck remains a highly sought-after vehicle for eco-conscious consumers and electric vehicle enthusiasts alike.
