Tesla recalls 48 Model 3 and Model Y over improperly tightened seat fasteners
Tesla has issued a voluntary safety recall for a small number of its 2026 Model 3 and Model Y vehicles due to concerns about improperly tightened seat fasteners that could pose an increased risk of accidents.
The recall affects a total of 48 vehicles, with 36 Model 3 sedans and 12 Model Y crossovers included in the safety notice. According to Tesla, the improperly tightened seat fasteners could potentially cause the seats to detach during a crash, increasing the risk of injury to occupants.
Owners of the affected vehicles have been notified by Tesla and are advised to bring their vehicles to a Tesla service center for inspection and repair. The necessary repairs will be carried out free of charge to the customer.
Tesla has stated that there have been no reported incidents or injuries related to the improperly tightened seat fasteners, and the recall is being issued as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of all customers.
Customers with affected vehicles are encouraged to schedule an appointment with their nearest Tesla service center as soon as possible to have the necessary repairs completed. Tesla has also provided a hotline for customers to contact if they have any questions or concerns regarding the recall.
It is important for all Tesla owners to regularly check for any safety recalls or updates issued by the manufacturer to ensure the continued safety and reliability of their vehicles.
