Tesla Introduces MultiPass Charging Feature
Tesla has unveiled a convenient new feature called MultiPass, allowing Tesla owners to pay for charging sessions at third-party sites using their Tesla Key Card. This feature was first discovered in the Tesla app 4.47.0 and is now live in the Netherlands, with plans for expansion to other locations in the near future.
What Is MultiPass
With Tesla’s MultiPass, users can simply tap their Tesla Key Card on a charger at a third-party site to initiate a charging session. The payment for this session will be processed using the same method as Tesla Supercharger sessions, eliminating the need for separate accounts or credit card information.
Integration With the Tesla App
The charging sessions conducted through MultiPass will be seamlessly integrated into the Tesla app, alongside Supercharger sessions. Users can track and manage all their charging activities in one place, making the process more streamlined and efficient.
Availability and Activation
MultiPass is currently available in the Netherlands, with plans for global expansion in the future. To activate MultiPass, users need to open the Tesla app and follow the simple activation process for each Tesla Key Card they wish to use for charging sessions.
Enhancing Third-Party Charging Experience
Tesla continues to enhance the experience for Tesla owners at third-party chargers, with features like displaying chargers in the vehicle’s navigation system and providing live occupancy information for select sites. These improvements aim to make charging more convenient and accessible for Tesla owners around the world.
Upcoming Charging Features
In addition to MultiPass, Tesla has announced upcoming Supercharger updates, including faster charging at V4 Superchargers and the introduction of Virtual Queues for busy charging stations. These enhancements demonstrate Tesla’s commitment to providing innovative solutions for their customers.
