Tesla has recently expanded access to its Full Self-Driving (FSD) Early Access Program, now allowing owners of Hardware 4 vehicles to enroll. Screenshots shared by Sawyer Merritt on X show that a banner in the Tesla app is appearing for some owners with the option to “Enroll in FSD (Supervised) Early Access Program.” This gives eligible users the opportunity to test out new FSD builds before they are released to a wider audience.
Once enrolled, a message confirms that the request has been submitted and may take up to 10 minutes to process. Participants in the program will have the chance to try out early features, provide feedback, and allow Tesla to collect detailed vehicle data, including GPS information, external and cabin camera footage, and VIN-linked data. It is important for drivers to remain alert and be prepared to take control of the vehicle at any time.
At the moment, this early access is limited to Hardware 4 vehicles, with Hardware 3 owners not yet included in the rollout. Previously, only a small group of users had access to new FSD builds, but this expansion signifies a broader effort by Tesla to gather real-world feedback on its ongoing FSD development.
In addition to the Supervised FSD program, Tesla has also announced plans for FSD (Unsupervised) to be introduced in June for its Robotaxi network in Austin and other U.S. cities by the end of the year. This next phase of FSD development will bring even more advanced autonomous driving capabilities to Tesla vehicles, paving the way for a future where self-driving cars are a common sight on the roads.
