We are eagerly looking forward to Tesla’s highly anticipated Holiday update, which is usually released in December. Last year, the update arrived earlier in the second week of December.
As part of our ongoing series, we are sharing our wishlist for features that we hope to see in this year’s holiday update, focusing on improvements to Tesla Maps and Autopilot.
Altitude
One feature we would love to see is the display of the vehicle’s current altitude on the touchscreen’s status bar at the top. This data could be derived from map data or a barometric sensor.
Fleet Support for Road Information
We hope for fleet-based support for road information, especially with the goal of vehicle-to-fleet communication in FSD V12.5.
User-contributed Map Data
Integration of more Waze-like features into Tesla’s navigation system, allowing users to contribute data such as police car locations, accidents, and construction.
Avoid Highways Option
We are looking forward to the addition of an ‘Avoid Highways’ option in Tesla navigation, as confirmed by Elon Musk earlier this year.
3D Buildings in Maps
The addition of 3D map support could be a useful and visually appealing feature for navigating unknown areas.
Full-Screen Visualizations on Intel
We hope to see the expansion of full-screen Autopilot visualizations to all Intel vehicles, providing a better user experience.
Detect and Visualize Emergency Vehicles
Enhanced detection and visualization of emergency vehicles, improving safety features on the road.
FSD Visualizations in Other Regions
The addition of FSD visualizations for all regions, enhancing the driving experience for Tesla owners worldwide.
FSD Tow Mode Support
We look forward to seeing support for Tow Mode with Autopilot or FSD, improving long trips with trailers.
Expand Basic Autopilot
Expanding Basic Autopilot features to match other manufacturers’ offerings, providing a seamless driving experience.
Actually Smart Summon
Expanding the reach of Actually Smart Summon to more regions and improving the feature for enhanced convenience.
Autoshift for All Cars
The addition of Autoshift to all Tesla vehicles, leveraging AI for smoother shifting between reverse and drive.
While this list covers popular user requests related to Tesla’s navigation and Autopilot features, we are open to hearing more ideas and suggestions from our community.
