Tesla Celebrates 80,000 Superchargers Milestone With Expansion in France
Tesla has achieved a significant milestone in its mission to drive the world towards sustainable energy. The company recently announced that it has surpassed 80,000 Supercharger stalls globally, solidifying its position as the operator of the world’s largest and most reliable fast-charging infrastructure.
The 80,000th stall was activated at a newly expanded site in France, located at 3 Rue Louis Chappée, Saint-Saturnin. This site has been upgraded to include 28 new stalls, bringing the total to 48, along with solar canopies and restrooms, making it a top destination for European travelers.
Rapid Growth at Tesla
Tesla’s pace of expansion is remarkable, with the company reaching 40,000 stalls in November 2022, and doubling that number to 80,000 in less than four years. The Supercharger network has had a significant impact, recording 53 million sessions and delivering 1.8 TWh of energy in Q1 2026 alone, with an average daily energy delivery of 20 GWh globally.
Innovative Technology Driving Expansion
Tesla is utilizing new hardware to sustain its growth, such as transitioning its New York factory to V4 Supercharger cabinet production. The V4 cabinets have double the capacity of the previous V3 units and are cheaper to deploy. Additionally, the introduction of “Folding Unit” Superchargers has made deployment faster and more cost-effective.
With the focus on high-volume, high-power hubs to accommodate vehicles like the Cybercab and Tesla Semi, Tesla is gearing up for the demand for 500kW and megawatt-level charging. The company’s ability to innovate and rapidly expand its charging infrastructure sets the stage for a future where sustainable energy is more accessible and efficient.
