Social media has become the primary platform for customers to provide direct feedback to companies. Whether it’s to express dissatisfaction or praise for a product or service, social media allows for a wider reach and immediate interaction with the companies. Recently, a Tesla enthusiast, Gali, took to social media, specifically Elon Musk’s platform, to request additional options for Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (FSD) feature.
Gali expressed his concern that the current implementation of FSD is too aggressive, with rapid acceleration, sudden lane changes, and jerky turns. While he acknowledged that the car is not driving unsafely, he felt that the driving style was too aggressive for his personal taste, even in the least aggressive drive mode. He suggested the implementation of a new “Turtle” mode for more cautious drivers like himself.
Several other Tesla users resonated with Gali’s feedback, stating that the difference between the Chill and Assertive modes was minimal. Some users highlighted the inconsistent driving style of the Chill mode, fluctuating between overly cautious and aggressively accelerating on different days.
In response to Gali’s request, Elon Musk announced a new driving mode called Hurry, which raised questions about how it would differ from the current Assertive mode. While Gali did not get the slower mode he suggested, he appreciated Musk’s response and committed to using the Chill mode for the time being.
It remains to be seen how the new Hurry mode will be implemented and whether it will address the concerns raised by Gali and other users. Musk’s history of renaming products for amusement, such as the rebranding of Smart Summon to Actually Smart Summon, leaves room for speculation on the potential changes in the FSD profiles.
If you have experience with Tesla’s current FSD features, share your thoughts on the existing drive modes and whether you believe there is room for a more cautious driving profile. Let us know in the comments below.
