Tesla has officially started delivering the Cybertruck in the United Arab Emirates, marking a significant milestone in the international expansion of the company’s most controversial vehicle. The news was confirmed by Tesla’s official X account for Europe and the Middle East on X, announcing that the first Cybertruck deliveries in the UAE are now underway following a launch event in Dubai.
The debut of the Cybertruck in the UAE was nothing short of spectacular. Prior to the event, footage circulated showing what was described as the largest Cybertruck light show in the country, with numerous stainless-steel pickups illuminating the night sky as Tesla handed over the first vehicles to local customers. This demonstration highlighted the continued attention and fascination surrounding the Cybertruck outside of North America, despite shifting demand dynamics within the U.S.
This launch in the UAE comes several months after Tesla initially opened Cybertruck orders in the region, alongside Saudi Arabia and Qatar, as part of its efforts to prepare for Middle East deliveries. Following the successful shipment of the all-electric pickup to international markets, with South Korea being the first overseas destination late last year, the UAE now joins as another key market where the unique design, premium quality, and high-profile launches of Tesla vehicles are well-received.
However, the timing of this launch is significant. It comes on the heels of reports suggesting a notable decline in U.S. demand for the Cybertruck in 2025, raising questions about the vehicle’s long-term sales outlook. Additionally, a report last year indicated that a major Tesla supplier had drastically reduced a long-term battery supply agreement for the Cybertruck, emphasizing the need for Tesla to enhance the truck’s appeal on a global scale.
Technologically, the Cybertruck continues to advance. Tesla recently introduced Full Self-Driving version 14 to the Cybertruck in North America, unlocking advanced autonomy features like parking, reversing, and expanded city driving capabilities. However, given that Full Self-Driving is not currently available in the UAE, it remains uncertain when these features will be accessible to Cybertruck owners in the Emirates.
Despite these challenges, Tesla remains optimistic that new markets like the UAE can reignite interest in the Cybertruck, touted as a groundbreaking all-electric pickup truck with a distinctive design, evolving software capabilities, and a reputation for potentially life-saving features. The arrival of the Cybertruck in the UAE marks another significant milestone in its unconventional global rollout, setting the stage for a new chapter in the vehicle’s journey.
