Tesla’s Chief Financial Officer, Vaibhav Taneja, recently hinted at the release of several new products from the electric vehicle company this year. One of the highly anticipated products is the more affordable Tesla model that was initially planned to launch alongside the Cybercab.
“We will be introducing several new products throughout 2025. We are still on track to launch a more affordable model in the first half of 2025 and will continue to expand our lineup from there,” Taneja stated.
The speculated vehicle, often referred to as the Model 2, was expected to be unveiled as a prototype alongside the Cybercab. Unlike the autonomous vehicle designed for Tesla’s robotaxi fleet, the Tesla Model 2 was rumored to feature a steering wheel for manual driving. Analyst Gene Munster even theorized that the Model 2 could be a stripped-down version of the popular Model 3.
In addition to the affordable model, Tesla CEO Elon Musk has mentioned other potential products in the pipeline, including a Tesla van and an HVAC system. Taneja emphasized Tesla’s commitment to providing the most compelling lineup in the industry, with a focus on software, autonomy features, and competitive total cost of ownership.
“We believe we have the most compelling lineup today compared to the industry, and it will continue to get better from here. As always, all our products come with the best software in the industry, autonomy features, and are capable of full autonomy in the future. And despite the premium experience, the total cost of ownership is close to market, less premium competitors,” Taneja added.
Tesla enthusiasts and investors are eagerly awaiting the new product releases, as the company continues to push the boundaries of electric vehicle technology.
