Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) Set to Launch in UAE in January 2026
Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently announced that Full Self-Driving (Supervised) could potentially be launched in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) as early as January 2026. This news signals the potential expansion of Tesla’s autonomous driving technology into the Middle East, starting with the UAE.
Musk’s Timeline
Responding to a query from UAE-based political analyst Ahmed Sharif Al Amiri on X, Musk mentioned that FSD could arrive in the country as soon as next month. This exchange generated significant interest among X users, eager to experience hands-off highway driving, urban navigation, and parking under driver supervision in bustling cities like Dubai and Abu Dhabi.
After his recent visit to the UAE, Musk shared images of his meetings with prominent figures in the country, including the Defense Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Dubai Crown Prince HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed. Musk also expressed his admiration for the UAE by posting “UAE rocks!” on X.
Recognition for FSD
Foreign media outlets have been praising Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) system. In a test conducted by Germany’s largest car magazine, Auto Bild, in Berlin’s challenging urban environment, FSD received high marks for its performance. The system demonstrated its ability to navigate through dense traffic, construction zones, pedestrian crossings, and narrow streets with confident decision-making.
Journalist Robin Hornig was impressed by FSD’s exceptional perception and unwavering attention to detail, noting that the system outperformed him in terms of vision and focus. With only one intervention required when the system misinterpreted a route, FSD showcased its advanced capabilities while relying on vision-based sensors and continuous learning through over-the-air updates.
