Rimac Automobili has once again raised the bar for electric hypercars with the unveiling of the Nevera R, a souped-up version of its already impressive Nevera model. The Nevera R has shattered 24 world records, surpassing every performance benchmark set by its predecessor.
One of the most jaw-dropping achievements of the Nevera R is its acceleration time of 0-60 mph in just 1.66 seconds, making it the fastest-accelerating production car in the world, electric or otherwise. This is 0.08 seconds faster than the advertised time of 1.74 seconds. In addition, the Nevera R reclaimed the title for the 0-400-0 km/h (0-249-0 mph) run, completing it in a mere 25.79 seconds, over 2 seconds faster than the previous record holder.
Powering the Nevera R is an impressive 2,107 horsepower delivered through four electric motors. The car features a revised aerodynamic package, specially developed Michelin tires, and an upgraded torque vectoring system for enhanced handling and traction.
The record-breaking runs were conducted at the Automotive Testing Papenburg (ATP) facility in Germany, where the original Nevera also made history in 2023. All tests were performed in the Nevera R’s dedicated high-speed mode and independently verified by Dewesoft, a global leader in performance data acquisition.
Rimac’s founder and President, Mate Rimac, expressed pride in the Nevera R’s accomplishments, stating, “Breaking records is in our DNA, and we won’t stop here.” Limited to just 40 units worldwide, the Nevera R comes with a starting price of €2.3 million (approximately $2.7 million USD), making it one of the fastest and most exclusive cars on the market.
